About Me

Hi, I’m Alexander — the person behind Rankifyo.

I got into blogging and SEO the way a lot of people do: by making almost every mistake possible first, and figuring out the right way to do things afterward.

My first real lesson came when I paid $80 for a “guaranteed” link-building package that tanked my Google Search Console with an unnatural links warning instead of the ranking boost I was promised. That mess taught me more about how SEO actually works than any course did — and it’s the reason I now write about the slow, unglamorous fixes that actually move the needle, instead of shortcuts that don’t.

Since then, I’ve run my own niche blogs (including a chili pepper growing site that I had to learn keyword research for from scratch), helped a friend get her small bakery found on Google, and worked through a real local SEO project for my uncle’s plumbing business — figuring out Google Business Profile, reviews, and maps rankings along the way.

I’ve also spent a fair amount of time in the unglamorous side of SEO: fixing a painfully slow WordPress site, cleaning up broken backlinks with Screaming Frog, sorting out internal linking that I didn’t realize was a mess until I actually looked, and learning the hard way why chasing a Domain Authority number is the wrong goal.

Rankifyo exists because of all of that. I write the guides I wish I’d had when I was starting out — practical, specific, and based on things I’ve actually tried, including the ones that didn’t work.
